Becoming a successful businesswoman comes with many responsibilities: HR, investors, and building clientele to name a few. On top of these many plates we must spin, there will come people-- all kinds of people who will want to pull on you in every direction, which in turn become distractions you can't afford.

Many people will have great ideas to present to you. The more you become successful, the more people will want to be around you, connect with you and even advise you.

BEFORE you get there, there are a couple things you'll want to have outlined to navigate successful on your path in purpose:

1| Who will you have as advisors?

Choosing advisors is a process you don’t want to take lightly. The role of an advisor is to give advice on the path of your destination = purpose. Therefore, the best advisors are people who are on a higher level than you.

2| Have clear focus for the vision the universe has given you!

Deviating off the path can be more frustrating and extremely time wasting. Choose wisely what you pour your energy into. They’ll want to sink into your pockets and convince you about things you don’t need to grow your business at this point.

3| Get familiar with using the word no.

Guilt-free. No is going to save you a lot of headache and trouble in the long run. Remember, it’s their job to sell you stuff. Most sales people don’t want to build a relationship, they want to meet their quota.

4| Clearly identify need vs. want.

Business is about efficiency and production. Buying things that aren’t necessary to immediate production, overspending, and not monitoring your money flow will cost you in the long run.

5| Trim the fat.

Streamline what you offer by taking continuous stock of how things are going. What programs/products do you offer? How well are they doing? What tweaks, removals or additions can you make to increase sales, retention of clients and introduction of new clients?

Advisors will come and go, as you continue developing your company, you may or may not continue your journey with the same people around you. Be open to the process, and the right people will come your way.

People will come and go. Be aware, but not overly skeptical or paranoid. Remember, there are sociopaths all around, and it’s not about you, it’s about them. It’s about what they need, how they can get it and from whom they get it. Their best interest is at hand, and they are willing to go along for the ride so long as it benefits them!

Your arsenal of preparedness on how to deal with people and exercise the word NO as needed, will help you stay clear and away from the people who’s intent is less than beneficial to you. The right people will come to help you stay on the course, stay in purpose and make the right decisions for the growth, and development of your company!
